The Larder is supporting the fundraising efforts of the children of Howden St Andrew's Primary School who are trying to raise as much money as they can to help feed and education the poorest children in Malawi.
Food is such a luxury for most people in the West that we take it for granted and we at The Larder have started work to raise awareness of food poverty in West Lothian and Scotland.
Bringing together our food skills and Howden St Andrew's children's commitment to raise money for this very good cause we will provide an afternoon of fun and food for the whole family.
What's going on:
Some children from the school will work with our chef in the morning to prepare the food, including a traditional Malawian dish. They will prepare pasta and meatballs and will deliver a talk on the Mary's Meals project.
Children that attend will be able to watch a films, play some word search games and watch the Larder cook off where two children from the school will challenge each other to cook a dish to be judged by the audience, a bit like Ready Steady Cook.
There will be a raffle and a guess the weight of the cake draw.
We look forward to seeing you on the day for a fun filled foodie afternoon to raise money for a very good cause.
