Our Beginners cooking course runs one evening a week for 4 weeks.
Our cooking course for beginners will take you from novice to good home cook and teach you the skills you need to cook with confidence. Over the four sessions of this course we’ll teach you how to cook a wide variety of different styles of food and give you a great repertoire of recipes and techniques to use every day.
Learn to make some delicious soups. Once you can make one soup, the possibilities are endless. Delicious and nutritious, soup is the ultimate comfort food and great to whip up for a simple lunch or a dinner party starter.
You will be amazed at how many dishes are based on the principle of a basic stew. You will learn what types of meat are best for stewing, while ensuring maximum flavour and discovering different spices to develop those flavours and discover new dishes.
Once you have mastered a classic roast, your Sundays will never be the same! Master the art of using this method to showcase your new found cooking skills, make the ultimate Yorkshire pudding and ban Aunts Bessie’s to the freezer.
We bust the myth that bread making is tricky. You will learn to make two different breads during the course leaving you with understanding of how to make, shape and bake a good basic bread.
Salads and dressings
Delicious salads, and dressings will become part of your repertoire so that you can whip up a healthy lunch or side dish.
With the emphasis on ‘5 a day’ and being encouraged to eat a diet filled with pulses and green, leafy vegetables, we will use recipes using seasonal vegetables to make sure we cook them using the best way to maximise their nutritional benefits.
Learn how to make a variety of different cakes, biscuits and simple desserts that you can impress your family and friends with. You could be the next Mary Berry!!
